This is a beautiful vintage Mark VI Alto, 78xxx 1957. The dark lacquer finish is all original with appropriate wear from professional use, although it was well cared for. It is US assembled and engraved. There is one low C key guard foot solder that was not due to damage. The original plastic thumbrest was replaced with a pearl like an SBA, but an original could be reinstalled if desired.
This is a medium bow alto that is highly desire for intonation and response. Original case included in functional condition with a small 1957 woodwind service card with 1957 calendar on the back and the original Selmer registration card.
The pads in this horn, if they can still be called pads, are VERY old and dirty so the horn barely plays at all at the moment and will require a serious cleaning and full overhaul. But it is in excellent physical condition and the few notes I could get out of it revealed a magical tone.
